TASK #4 WRITING A BIOGRAPHY
With the worksheet do research about someone famous who you really admire and find out about his or her life.
Try to answer the main questions of the worksheet in order to give you an idea of how to write a biography. You don't have to answer all or write everything about this person, just make a selection and write a nice biography using the past tense.
At least 120 words. You have 2 classes to prepare it: one to do research and another to write.

MADONNA
Madonna was born on August 16th, 1958 in the American state of Michigan. Her father's name was Silvio Ciccone and he was the son of an Italian immigrant from Naples and worked as an engineer. Her mother's name was Madonna Fortin and she had Canadian ancestors. When Silvio and Madonna Fortin met, fell in love immediately and 3 years later they got married. They had 6 children and Madonna was the third one. Unfortunately, when her mother was 33 years old was diagnosed with breast cancer and died.
The childhood of Madonna suffered from her mother's absence and the change of personality on his father. Silvio became very strict with their children and became more and more strict after his second marriage and the new two kids that had with her new wife!
Madonna attended the Dance School at the University of Michigan. She dropped out the college in order to make a living dancing and she decided to move to New York City. There she worked as a waitress and as a shop assistant. She had little money but luckily she started soon to work as a dancer with some groups.
Madonna became romantically involved with musician Dan Gilroy in 1979 and they began a band and writing songs together, but Madonna later decided to promote herself as a solo act. She released two singles "Boderline" and "Lucky Star" and they were very successful.
Her second album "Like a Virgin" was a worldwide success. Madonna's look and style of dressing, her performances, and her music videos influenced young girls and women. Her style became one of the female fashion trends of the 1980s. The rest is history.
She got married with the, by then unknow, actor Sean Penn. She appeared in some nice films like "Seeking Susan desperately" or "Who's that girl?."
She got married to the British filmmaker Guy Ritchy and she moved to live in London.
She had a biological daughter named Lourdes with Carlos Leon and a few years later and during these years adopted 5 children from different African countries.
In my opinion, Madonna is a super woman. She not only became famous as a singer but also as a business woman, she's a super professional that has been running a stunning artist career adapting her work to each moment in time. A hard-working woman, perfectionist, ambitious, determined and a model to follow by some many artists that arrived after her.
